The Uttar Pradesh government website on Taj Mahal – www.tajmahal.gov.in-- is all set to  become more informative and will have significant details about Taj Mahal on its architecture, history and tourist-oriented information. This information will soon be available in nine languages. So far, the content on the website is currently available in English language only. According to a report in The Indian Express, the state government has started an exercise to translate the website content in eight languages including French, German, Spanish, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Hindi. 

“The idea is to make the website friendly for the people of different countries who want to know about Taj Mahal. It is expected to help foreigners in learning about this heritage site and promote tourism in India,” said an official. 

Union Ministry of Tourism recently honoured the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department with 'National Tourism Award 2009-10' for most innovative use of 'Information Technology/best website/portal' and for outstanding achievement and contribution to the promotion of tourism in the country.
