Trailing Tiger In North India

Destinations Covered: Delhi - Lucknow - Dudhwa National Park - Corbett National Park - Agra - Bhartpur - Ranthambhore National Park - Geejgarh - Delhi
DAY 01 : Arrive Delhi
On arrival you will be met at Delhi airport by Planet India travel representative, who will transfer you to your hotel in private car. Half day combined city tour of New and Old Delhi is planned for you. You will be visiting, Qutub Minar, India Gate, President’s House and Parliament House for picture only, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort. While in old Delhi, you will enjoy the rickshaw ride in the narrow lanes of Chandni Chownk.
DAY 02 : Delhi - Lucknow Train
After early tea/coffee and cookies, you will be transferred to New Delhi Railway station in time to board your train for Lucknow, The capital of Utter Pradesh. However, Lucknow is more famous for being the capital of Oudh (Avadh) Nawabs and their mannerisms. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Later, visit Lucknow with our guide visiting Bara Imambara, The Rumi Darwaza and the Mosque and Husainabad Imambara also known as Chhota Imambara. (B,D)
DAY 03 : Lucknow - Dudhwa National Park245 km 6 hrs
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Dudhwa National Park. The area was established as Wildlife Sanctuary for Swamp Deer in 1958. Later in 1977 it was notified as National Park due to the great efforts of Mr. Billy Arjan Singh and finally came under project tiger in 1987. You will find tigers, swamp deer, sambar deer, barking deer, spotted der, hog deer, Indian rhinoceros, sloth bear and jackal. On arrival check in at Tiger Haven, the resort founded by Billy Arjan Singh Ji. (B,L,D)
DAY 04 : In Dudhwa National Park
Dudhwha has about 400 species of birds and a delight for any avid bird watcher. Besides the resident birds, there are lot of migratory birds including the Wwamp Francolin, Bengal Florican, Great Slaty Woodpecker, plenty of Painted Stor, Sarus Crane etc. Much of the parks avian fauna is aquatic in nature and fond around Dudhwa’s lakes.  You will have two game drives in the park, one in the morning and one in the evening (B,L,D)
DAY 05 : Dudhwa National Park – Corbett National Park

After breakfast, drive for Corbett National Park. This is one of the long drives, you will cover about 361 km with packed lunch. You have the option to have lunch enroute also. On arrival at Corbett, you will check in into a camp for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

DAY 06 : In Corbett National Park Full day Jeep excursion
Early morning go for Game Viewing by jeeps in the Brijrani  zone of the park.  Corbett is India’s first national park and one of its finest. It is notable not only for its rich and varied wildlife and birdlife but also for its scenic charm and magnificent sub-mountain and riverain views. Set up as Hailey National Park after the Governor of United Provinces. On Independence it was renamed the Ramganga National Park and later to Corbett National Park. Rich in wildlife, it is known for tigers, leopard, sambar, chital, elephants. We will enjoy our packed lunch at the Forest Rest House. Return to the camp in the evening for bonfire and dinner.
DAY 07 : In Corbett National Park
After breakfast you will be transferred to Dhikala the overnight zone of Corbett National Park. One of the best locations to stay inside the park You will be spending the next two nights here doing game viewing excursions. On your way you will be stopping at crocodile Pool in the Ramganga River to see the Gharial, a real endangered species, Crocodiles and the freshwater shark Goonch. On arrival at Dhikala check in at the Forest Rest House. Later towards late noon explore the local area of Dhikala on elephants back. The range of Dhikala falls in the Ramganga Valley, which is very scenic and home to many mammals including Asiatic Elephants. You can see large herds of them crossing the Ramganga or enjoying the vast savanna grassland. This is perhaps the best place in north India to see these great giants. Return to the FRH for your dinner and overnight.
DAY 08 : In Corbett National Park
Early morning explore the forest on the elephants back. Later after breakfast, drive to the other bank of river Ramganga the place is called Ringora, here you can possibly spot number of Crocodiles basking on the river bank, and awe aspiring view of the reservoir with storks, many species of ducks and waders. Return to the forest rest house for dinner and overnight.
DAY 09 : Corbett National Park – Agra 315 km
Early morning leave by surface for Agra. On arrival you will be staying in hotel for one night. Late afternoon you will be visiting the Monument of Love, Taj Mahal and Red Fort of Agra, both are UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE MONUMENTS. (B,D)
DAY 10 : Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Bhartpur – Sawai Madhopur
After breakfast, leave by surface for Ranthambhore National Park at Sawai Madhopur via Fatehpur Sikri and Bhartpur Bird Sanctuary. Bhartpur is one of the best bird sanctuaries in India and offers more then 450 species of birds including the migratory birds. You will do this bird watching trip with our naturalist who will meet you at Bhartpur, by cycle rickshaws. Later, lunch at hotel Birder’s Inn and continue your drive to Ranthambhore National Park. On arrival, you will stay in your hotel for next two nights. (B,L,D)
DAY 11 : In Ranthambhore National Park
Ranthambhore is one of the best parks to see tiger and is also one of the largest national parks in northern India and was declared as National Park in 1980. Tigers can be easily spotted een during the day time. The best time to visit is November to May. You will have two game drives in the park by jeeps, one in the morning before sunrise and the second one in the late noon. (B,L,D)
DAY 12 : Ranthambhore – Geejgarh Village

Early morning another Game Drive in the park for Tiger Sighting. Return to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast leave by car for Geejgarh Village. On arrival check in into Geejgarh Eco Village Resort, a perfect place in the lap of nature to explore the village life of India. After lunch Village Safari by Jeeps, or by Camel Carts, or by Jugad, ( a locally developed vehicle which run on water pump engine and used by the local farmers)  Interact with the local people and also visit the village school and Khadi Centre. You will get the opportunity to visit the village houses and learn about the local craft and crops. Evening visit the Organic Farm of the resort and then learn the Indian Cooking from our Chef at the resort. Enjoy Bon Fire and dances of Rajasthan Folk before dinner and overnight at the resort.

DAY 13 : Geejgarh – Delhi – Home
After breakfast, leave by car for Delhi. Enroute you will be visiting Abhaneri Stepwell of 9th century. On arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to International airport in time to connect flight for home.
