Classical Rajasthan Tour with Geejgarh - 12 Nights / 13 Days

DAY 01 : Arrival Delhi
On arrival meeting at the airport and transfer to hotel in your private car for overnight by our representative.
DAY 02 : Delhi

After breakfast city tour of Old Delhi, visiting Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Nation, Jama Masjid, the biggist mosque in Asia, drive past the Red Fort and visit the old city by cycle rickshow.


Lunch in a city resturant. Later visit New Delhi. You will be visiting Qutub Minar, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Government buildings, India Gate and Bahai’s Temple. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 03 : Delhi - Mandawa

After breakfast at the hotel, leave by surface for Mandawa in Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. Situated along the old camel caravan trade route, northwest of Jaipur is known for minor forts, baolis and the painted havelis of India’s leading merchant families, still standing in all their evocative splendour. The region resembles an open air museum.


Leave Delhi - 0700 hrs. by coach
Arrive Mandawa - 1330 hrs.


On arrival installation at Mandawa Desert Resort. After lunch city tour of Mandawa visiting the painted havelis. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 04 : Mandawa - Bikaner

After breakfast leave by surface for Bikaner founded by Rao Bika, the disgruntled younger son or Rao Jodha, the ruler of Jodhpur in 1486.


Leave Mandawa - 0700 hrs. by coach
Arrive Bikaner - 1300 hrs.


On arrival installation at the hotel and after lunch city tour of Bikaner visiting the bazaars of Bikaner and Junagarh Fort, perhaps the best preserved and most ornately decorated of all the forts in Rajasthan. Also visit the Rat Temple at Deshnokh. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 05 : Bikaner - Jaisalmer

After breakfast at the hotel leave by surface for Jaisalmer, the golden city. Today a remote outpost in the Thar Desert, Jaisalmer was founded in the 12th century by Maharawal Jaisal of the Bhatti Rajput clan. It was once a flourishing trade center located on the busy caravan trade route to Afghanistan and Central Asia.


Leave Bikaner - 0700 hrs. by coach
Arrive Jaisalmer - 1300 hrs.

 

On arrival installation at hotel. After lunch city tour of Jaisalmer visiting the havelis built in the 19th century by the town’s merchants and ministers. The havelis of Salim Ssingh, Nathmalji and Patwon are the finest. Also visit Gadisagar Lake, this rainwater reservoir, built in 1367, was once the city’s sole source of water. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 06 : Jaisalmer

After breakfast excursion to Jaisalmer Fort which rises like a fabulous mirage out of the sands of the Thar Desert. Built in 1156 by Maharawal Jaisal, and added to by his successors, this citadel stands on the peak of the 80 m high Trikuta Hill. In medieval times, Jaisalmer’s entire population lived within the fort and even now, thousands of people reside here, making it India’s only living fort.


After lunch at the hotel, leave by surface for Sam. A small village in the middle of the Thar desert, close to Desert National Park. The dunes at Sam, also called Dhore, are the finest in the area and an excellent place for camel ride and to watch the sun set in the evening. Sam is also famous for the Desert Festival, which is held in February every year and the dancers from all over Rajasthan gather her to proform. The moon lit nights make this area even more romantic and with overnight stay in the tented accommodation with special dances make it a great out door.


On arrival at Sam, go for camel ride on the dunes of the Sam village. Your baggage will be transferd to the Dune Safari Camp. After sun set, return to the camp for special Gala Dinner with Rajasthani Folk dances and overnight at the camp.

 

DAY 07 : Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

After breakfast at the camp, leave by surface for Jodhpur, also called  the blue city of Rajasthan. Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan due to blue houses around the Mehrangarh Fort.   


Leave Jaisalmer - 0700 hrs. by coach
Arrive Jodhpur - 1300 hrs.


On arrival check in at the hotel and after lunch city tour of Jodpur visiting the  Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Dhanda and the bazzars of Jodhpur.


(In case if you wish we have the option of staying at Luni Fort or at Rohitgarh. These are the small heritage properties near Jodhpur and ideal places to stay. One can even visit Jodhpur from these places.)


Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 08 : Jodhpur - Pushkar

After breakfast leave by surface for Pushkar, it is one of the five sacrad Dhams (pilgrimage sites for Hindus) and often called the Tirath Raj, the kind of pilgrimage sites. Situated on the banks of Pushkar Lake, it is famous for Brhama’s Temple, the only one in the world.


Leave Jodhpur - 0700 hrs. by coach
Arrive Pushkar - 1300 hrs.


On arrival check in at the hotel and after lunch visit Pushkar. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 09 : Pushkar - Jaipur

After breakfast leave by surface for Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, and also known as the Pink City. Founded on 18 November 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II the ruler of Amber, the city today has a population of more than 3.1 million. It is one of the best planned cities of India.


Leave Pushkar - 0730 hrs. by coach
Arrive Jaipur - 1230 hrs.

 

On arrival installation at the hotel. Later after lunch city tour of Jaipur visiting City Palace, Jantar Mantar and visit of the local Bazaar. Return to the hotel for overnight.
DAY 10 : Jaipur - Geejgarh

After breakfast excursion to Amber Fort. On way stop at Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. On arrival at the fort, ascend the fort on Elephants back. Lunch in the City Restaurant. Later leave by surface  of Geejgarh Village. This is an ethnic village in District Dausa in Rajasthan and situated on way to Agra. In order to see the village life of India, where more then 70 percent population of India stays till date. Here you will get the opportunity to interact with local people and will learn the Indian Cooking. This village stay will give you an experience of the life time, when you bring in your own vegetables right from the farm to be cooked for you in front of you. You will also have village safari by Camel Carts or Jugard, which is a locally developed vehicle,


Leave Jaipur - 1600 hrs. by coach
Arrive Geejgarh - 1730 hrs.


On arrival installation in the Village Retreat. Evening visit the Organic Farm and learn about the Indian Agriculture. Name of the plants and vegetables, Pick up your own vegetables for our Master Chef to give you demonstration of all the spices and Cooking Classes. Followed by Rajasthani Folk Dances with Bon Fire and Indian Dinner. Overnight in the cottages.
As we believe in the Conservation, we discourage use of bottled water, hence, you have sterilized Flasks in all rooms which can be used to take Miniral Water from the Restaurant of from the Choupal. This is free, you can take as much water as your want. Also the tea/coffee is also available through out the day on complimentary basis. Kindly note that we encourage our clients to plant a tree here to offset your carbon foot prints.
